Living Well With Cancer 程序
This program provides 支持 to those who have been diagnosed with and are undergoing 治疗 for cancer at 纽约医院 through services centering on the mind, 身体和幸福. These programs are generously funded through the Breast Cancer Living Well Fund (BCLW)和 Living Well with Cancer Fund (LWWC).
The programs include:
- 金融帮助: To relieve some of the financial burden during cancer 治疗 (whether due to a leave of absence from work and lost income, or for those living on a fixed income), we offer assistance to those struggling financially.
- 舒适,保护 & 自尊: 头覆盖, 围巾, and wigs; prosthetic/recovery camisoles and bras; compression garments to help with pain and swelling (lymphedema) following surgery or radiation therapy; lymphedema alert bracelets and anti-nausea bands.
- 庆祝生命 & 提供支持: Cancer Support Group provides emotional 支持 for those coping with a cancer diagnosis, 治疗, and recovery; Celebrating National Cancer Survivors Day; Meetings with a licensed social worker to provide psycho-social 支持.
- 放松 & 减轻压力: Acupuncture services; spot massages while being treated; wellness services including massage, 灵气, 极性疗法, and cranio-sacral therapy; classes; forest therapy walks; Yo Massage Class. 放松 CDs are also available to patients in cancer care.
- 教育,支持 & 信息: Nutritional cookbooks and other cancer related literature; prepare for surgery consultation; 灵气 certification course.
